Have an Angry Birds party or family movie night with these free party decorations and recipes.

Last week as we were picking up another Walmart Family Mobile cell phone for my daughter, we noticed that Angry Birds was part of the display. We decided to have a Family Movie Night Angry Birds Party. Since we all have a different favorite Angry Birds character, I decided to have a red, black, yellow and green party to represent Red, Bomb, Chuck, and Leonard and the Pigs. Host an Angry Birds Party

We decided to start our party at dinner time, so we had a balanced menu. Our main dish was Black Bean & Veggie Lettuce Wraps. The sides included vegetables and dip, fruit, and eggs. We enjoyed a popcorn snack mix during the movie and cupcakes for dessert.

The Black Bean & Veggie Lettuce Wraps was a stir fry made with black beans, red peppers, yellow squash, and green onions and served on lettuce leaves. This delicious meatless dish goes together quickly and is surprisingly hearty.

The sides really enhanced the overall look of the party. I cut thin strips of celery and yellow pepper and placed them in small dessert glasses with ranch dip and grape tomatoes and black olives on toothpicks. The four fruits were strawberries, blackberries, pineapple and green grapes. They were arranged on a tray with a fruit dip in the middle. Colorful crackled eggs were a cute addition. These  look complicated but are relatively simple. First, you hard boil eggs and let them cool. Then, you crack the shells but leave them intact. Soak the cracked eggs in food coloring for approximately 10 minutes each. Peel the shells and your cracked design will be revealed.

Chocolate Mint Popcorn Mix

I created a chocolate mint Angry Birds Popcorn Snack Mix with chocolate and mint candies, popcorn and pretzels. This tasty snack mix would be great for any movie night or party.

Our party also included bottles of water with Angry Birds labels, mini cupcakes, and colorful candies. In addition to the food and movie, we had a Who’s the Angriest? contest. We each picked our favorite Angry Birds character and put on our angriest face. This created a lot of laughs. Who do you think won the contest?
