Have your child celebrate with this S’mores backyard party, complete with free printables.

Summer has begun and it’s time to celebrate. Our family spends a lot of time outside camping, biking, and walking, We love all sorts of outdoor adventures! So when it came time to have an end of the year sleepover, my daughter requested a backyard slumber party. We decided to plan the backyard party with a S’mores Bar and movies under the stars.S'more Fun Backyard Party with Free Download Printables

How to Throw a S’mores Backyard Party

The party planning started with a theme. Since my daughter wanted something related to camping, we came up with a S’mores theme. I created cute printable decorations that feature a happy S’more. We gathered our supplies and set up the party.

We developed a S’mores Bar with some fun options, including graham crackers or fudge cookies and three kinds of chocolate. The S’mores Bar was set up under a canopy. The canopy provided a great backdrop for some lights and the party decorations. I am offering the printable decorations to you as part of a free download. You can reach the download at the bottom of the post. These decorations included a S’mores Fun banner, water bottle labels, small and large circles, squares, and a S’mores Bar sign. I used the squares on party bags for the girls to take home. The small circles can be attached to a toothpick to create a fun cupcake topper.

Backyard Movie Night

We purchased a new Coleman 10×10 Instant Canopy with Sunwall at Target to use for the party. We set up the party under the canopy and used the outside of the Sunwall as a screen for the projected movies. The movies were enjoyed while the girls laid on sleeping bags on top of air mattresses. The girls had so much fun and giggled the night away.

My husband helped set up the party and was really impressed with the Coleman Canopy. It was quite easy to put up. We love the adjustable height, which is tall enough so my hubby doesn’t hit his head, and the ergonomically-designed comfort grips that keep us from pinching fingers. The canopy is made with UVGuard material that offers 50+ UPF. That makes my fair skin happy. The roof vent helps to keep air moving under the canopy. While this canopy is great for a backyard party, we will get a lot of use out of it out at the sports field and while we camp.

We also purchased a new sleeping bag for the party. It’s the Coleman 40D Raymer Tall Sleeping Bag. This is one amazing sleeping bag. It’s like the designers at Coleman asked me what I don’t like about sleeping bags. What would I say? I need a place for my head, the zipper gets stuck, and they are a pain to roll up. This sleeping bag has an extra area at the top for your pillow. It has a ZipPlow zipper, which keeps the zipper from getting caught. It’s easy to roll up and stay rolled with Coleman’s Roll Control™ system. The sleeping bag comes rolled up really tight, and you are still able to get it stuffed back into it the bag because it has a tear away label that expands the size of the bag. Coleman has thought of everything! You can pick up the Coleman 10×10 Instant Canopy with Sunwall and Coleman 40D Raymer Tall Sleeping Bag at Target. I found mine in the camping aisle, but look for special end caps displays. Right now you can save on Coleman products with Cartwheel.

Wow that table looks great! And what a fun idea, a smores bar and a backyard sleepover with movie. Though you didn't mention what kind of projector you were using. Is that another post?

My husband borrowed one from work. It worked out pretty good once it was dark.
