Here is a tasty campfire dessert that is derived from s’mores and banana boats. It can easily be adapted to suit different tastes.
The next camping recipe I want to share with you is done directly on the campfire in foil. No dutch oven needed! It’s a gooey mixture of s’mores and banana boats.
S’more Banana Boat Waffle Bowls
waffle cone bowls
Cut off about a 10″ piece of foil. Place a waffle bowl on top top of the foil Place sliced bananas in the bowl.
Smear some peanut butter on top of the banana slices.
Sprinkle on chocolate chips and mini marshmallows.
Wrap the bowl in foil and stick it on some coals in the fire. I shared coals with the fellow campers who were roasting their marshmallows.
The photo below isn’t very pretty, but let me tell you…it was FABULOUS! The only thing I would change is to cook it just a little longer because I love it crispy! I think I cooked it about 10 minutes. The cooking length will depend on how hot your fire is. It was really wet and rainy this day I made this, so it could have used a little longer. I recommend using your nose to determine when it’s done!
It would be very easy to vary this recipe by adding in different fruit or toppings. What would you put into yours?
