Free Shrinky Dinks Templates for Jewelry

Shrinky Dinks are a throwback to childhood. We spent hours and hours creating fun designs. Now, I make designs with my family.

I am not great at drawing, so I need a template. Since I could not find what I wanted, I created templates, which I now pass on to you.

Free Shrinky Dink Templates

I’ve provided five different template sets for you to use. There are Kawaii foods, geometric flowers, geometric shapes, blank shapes, and cute designs. Feel free to mix and match or create your designs on the blanks. The possibilities are endless!

Use these designs to create earrings, keychains, zipper pulls, charms, necklaces, magnets, and more.

How to Make Shrinky Dinks

Supplies to make Shrinky Dinks:

You will need some Shrinky Dink sheets, which you can find online or at a craft store. Then, you have to download and print the templates. I sized them to match a 5½x7½ inch shrinky sheet. Print on the rough side if you print directly on the Shrinky Dink sheet.

Notes: 1. Shrink plastic deduces to 20% of its original size, so print accordingly. 2. Flip any writing so it is not backward on the shiny side of the dink.

Once your templates are printed or traced with a permanent marker, it is time to color on the rough side. I prefer to use colored pencils. The design appears dull, but it intensifies when it gets cooked.

Now, grab some scissors and cut them out. Small scissors work best.

Then, use a hole punch to create a hole where you want to attach your earring hook or jump ring. No hole is needed for a magnet.

Next, preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C). Place your cut-out pieces on a parchment or foil-lined baking sheet and pop them in the oven for 1-2½ minutes. Once they flatten out, allow another 30 seconds in the oven. Watch as they magically shrink and become thicker and more durable!

Once shrunk, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Finally, attach your earring hooks or jump rings with pliers.
