Make sure your family and vehicle are ready for your next camping adventure with these road trip essentials. Free printables are included for the kids.
I talk frequently about our love of camping. We would go every weekend if we could, but the kids have all kinds of activities going on. Whenever we are free, we head out. Some of our camping trips are near and some are far. Each trip we make sure that our vehicles are road ready and that the kids are entertained in the car. You too can have a successful time with these road trip essentials.
Last year we got NTU (new to us) vehicles. Our minivan and suburban were replayed with a 2013 Toyota 4Runner. It’s a great vehicle that does the same thing that the previous vehicles did combined. It’s great for all our errands around town and it transports the family and our camper out to the campground. We also have a newer pop-camper. It’s smaller than our previous one, but it works well for our family.
Change your Cabin Air Filter
FRAM Fresh Breeze® cabin air filters can be purchased at Walmart. I looked up the required filter to make sure my local Walmart had it in stock. Find out if your vehicle has a cabin air filter, and if so, which filter to purchase here on the Fram Filter Catalog. Reach for FRAM Fresh Breeze® cabin air filters because they filter 98%* of dust, dirt, and allergens from entering your vehicle. *Road dust and pollen particles ranging in size from 5-100 microns.
While my hubby is in charge of making sure the vehicles are happy, I am in change of making sure the passengers are happy. I created some fun camping themed printables to help keep the kids entertained in the backseat. Two pages of printables can be downloaded, printed on regular paper, cut in half, and placed on mini clipboards for lots of in-car fun.
Camping Road Trip Essentials Caddy
I put together a little a little camping road trip essentials caddy for each child. In addition to the clipboard of fun, each caddy had water and snacks, a giant pen, a peg game, a book, stickers, a stuffed animal, mini bubbles, a headlamp, and glow sticks. Great for keeping the kids entertained on short or long trips.
The kids enjoyed themselves and continued to play with items from the caddy after we arrived to the campsite.
