DIY Sewing Pattern Weights
A few weeks ago my Sewing Counter was featured at Craft Gossip. That got me to follow their Facebook page where I found this awesome pattern weight tutorial. It took me about 15 minutes to put together mine! That included the time to heat up the glue gun.
Supplies needed are a hot glue gun, large flat washers, and ribbon. The package of washer was under $3 at Menards.
Start by gluing 2 washers together. I put flat sides together.
Once glued they look like this.
Put some glue on one side and tightly wrap your ribbon around the washer. Add dots of glue every so often as you pull it tight. Super easy!
I decided to use different ribbon on each so they are colorful.
They are just perfect for holding a pattern in place while I cut. No more pinning!!!
That is such a great idea – I am always in search of some tins 🙂
Thanks for sharing.

Love this idea, very pretty indeed. Thanks for sharing your craft at Sweet and Savoury Sunday’s, I hope you link up again this weekend.
Such a cute idea! I have some plain pattern weights that I use that may be getting a makeover.

These are really nice!
I wish I could make them too…
Oh, these are smart. Gotta make some!
What a great idea! Can't wait to try this – looks so simple.
what a great idea! I hate using pins and it's always a little frustrating. I love this!
Great idea! No more hunting for pins on the floor, too!
Hi came here from Strut Your Stuff Saturday linky. I was drawn to your thumbnail cause it is so colourful and God knows I am drawn to colour lol! This is a great idea, so simple but still fab. Well done girl 🙂
love this idea! best of all no more pin pricks. it's so hard to sew with bandaids on your fingers!
I keep seeing pattern weights and I really must make some… so much better than me grabbing whatever's at hand.. sticky tape dispenser etc.
I learned to use weights when cutting out patterns years ago. Makes it so much easier than pins. Yours are the BEST—pretty to look at. Mine looked like miniature milk cans LOL!!! Next week, stop by and share this on my Wonderful Wednesday Blog Hop? It will be a very pinnable hit with my readers. 🙂

Love these! I'm trying to learn how to sew. I've had a machine for years collecting dust :). Pinning to my soon to be used sewing board!
So cute! I've got plenty of washers, but no cute ribbon to wrap around them. I'll have to watch for some now.
